What should I do with mixed fuel contaminated with coolant?

In brief

If you find coolant in mixed fuel, stop using the fuel, keep it in a closed container away from drains and ignition sources, and tell us roughly how much there is and what got in. Yes. Call 07950 582635 or send an enquiry.

What coolant in mixed fuel does

Coolant adds water and glycol that do not burn and do not blend with fuel. In an engine it causes misfiring and corrosion, and glycol can damage seals and injection equipment.

Storing mixed fuel contaminated with coolant until collection

Store mixed fuel as you would petrol: closed containers made for fuel, outdoors or in a ventilated, bunded store, away from welding, grinding and other ignition sources, and never mixed with oil, coolant or AdBlue. Do not add anything else to the container.

How City Fuel Services handles waste mixed fuel

We collect waste mixed fuel from cans and drums up to bulk tanks, across England, Wales and mainland Scotland, from our licensed site in Droylsden, Manchester. Terms, a rebate or a charge, are agreed before collection.
